After an amazing day touring Soweto, including Vilakazi Street and the iconic Soweto Towers, our family stopped by Kota Joe Roadhouse in Alberton. We absolutely loved the retro aesthetics, and the food was incredibly filling👌🏽

Excellent roadhouse, tasty food and delicious milkshakes. Enjoyed the candy floss as take away too.

The best food service and hangout spot. And the queue moves fast. Go and get yourself an amazing Kota and please try their Shakes.

The best I tell you. The Jozi kota is the one! Their milkshakes 🥰 but they open at 11:00am on Fridays that’s the only downside. Otherwise, tantalising! Not njalo because it’s junk food.

Good variety on the menu with decent food overall. Service can be a bit inconsistent at times, but the staff are generally friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual, making it a good spot for a quick meal or takeaway.

The Milkshakes are by far the best in the country 😍 I always take the Top Deck but tried the Nutella and Biscoff this time and it was incredible 🤭 Did not have food this time around so the 5 star rating on food is purely for the Milkshakes. Waiters are super friendly and the atmosphere is always warm and vibey ✨

They have great milkshakes and great Kota's. I would not recommend the pizzas, but the Kota's are amazing. Very good looking place, the music is a bit loud, but it's manageable. Went there today for the 3rd time and received great service and great products once again.

Kota Joe Roadhouse is next level. Great music, big screens, excellent service, and food that’s honestly better than most restaurants. Always a vibe and always consistent. They have a sitdown restaurant also. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Really hearty and flavourful kotas with a large selection of fillings. A must try if you are in joburg.

Went there on a random Monday night as we were running around doing errands and got home late. Their milkshakes are the best!!!! My hubby had a blondie which was awesome & I had the beef shawarma which was remarkable as it was exactly what I was craving. The milkshakes were so good that we had to order another milkshake for my daughter as she didn't want to share. Even had the shawarma as a left over the next day & it was still delicious. Definitely recommend!!!

The place has so much potential to be an unforgettable experience. You are able to order from and dine in your car but the inconvenience comes with having to move everytime someone behind you was ordering a takeaway. The big screens play adverts on a loop which would have been great if they were screening a movie. Our first server was amazing but we unfortunately had to switch servers when we decided to move inside. Overall it was a good first experience and would give it a try again.

Great Curry and Rice Old school Road House meal takes me back a few decades.

I always enjoy going there. I had a Oreo and Peanut butter milkshake. Don't judge, it was delicious. Service was good. There was a gathering of a car club in the parking area, so we got bonus entertainment.
